In Florida, The Digest reports that 12 advanced bioeconomy ventures raised $1.262 billion in new capital in Q3 2014 through Q1 2015 for company development — and pilot, demonstration and commercial-scale projects. This compares to $1.223 billion for the Q2 2013-Q2 2014 period, a gain of 5.2 percent. There was a notable shift towards debt issues (14 percent of deal flow and 34 percent of total raised) and towards commercial-scale projects (14 percent of deal flow and 33 percent of total raised).
